Belajar Grammar : Verbs

Belajar Bahasa Inggris - Verb mempunyai peranan sangat penting dalam sebuah kalimat. Verb sendiri di bagi menjadi dua kategori yaitu : "kata kerja bentuk aksi (action verb)" dan kata kerja tanpa aksi (stative verb). Action verb adalah kata kerja yang menunjukkan aksi atau tindakan. Sebagai contoh "swim, run, work, jump", semuanya itu menunjukkan sebuah aksi atau gerakan melakukan sesuatu. Namun ada juga yang tidak menunjukkan aksi atau tindakan namun menunjukkan keberadaan atau kondisi, yaitu kata kerja tanpa aksi atau Stative Verb. Sebagai contoh seperti kata kerja "be, exist, seem, belong" yang semuanya termasuk stative verb.

A. Action Verb dan Stative Verb

Contoh kalimat action verb ;

1. Roni speaks English fluently
2. Jack drives his car very fast
3. Rita watched TV last sunday
4. Bobby jumped out of his bed yesterday
5. Rudi sits beside Renny

Contoh paragraf yang berisi action verb ;

One day I helped my grandma make dumplings. First, we poured the flour and the water to make the dough, then it was rolled out and shaped. After that, we made the filling with meat and cabbage. The rolled dough was then given the fillings and cooked in boiling water. At last the dumplings were ready to eat.

Contoh kalimat stative verb ;

1. I think that lemon tea is great
2. My father has a new car
3. I saw stars at night
4. I wish I could fly
5. We agree about your opinion

Contoh paragraf yang berisi stative verb ;

Due to a new school year, there are many new students around who need to know the school rules. Senior students are expected to help them. Additional information, there will be  a welcoming party where the new students' parents are also invited.

B. Regular Verb dan Irregular Verb

Selain mempelajari action verb dan stative verb, kita juga belajar mengenai Regular verb dan Irregular verb. Regular verb (kata kerja beraturan) ketika diubah ke bentuk past simple dan past participle semuanya ditambah -ed, sedangkan Irregular verb (kata kerja tidak beraturan) ketika diubah past simple dan past participle ada yang semuanya berubah, tidak sepenuhnya berubah, dan tidak berubah sama sekali .
